OK, the recommended tire size for my 2001 Chevy Malibu is 215/60-15. What would happen if i install tires surrounded by the size of 215/65-15 ? how much of a difference is that? My friend has Chevy S-10 and he is looking to put up for sale his winter tires and he said if it fits to my car he'll grant them to me.
Answers: wrong gary: 215 is the width, 60 or 65 is JUST the aspect ratio of tire tread breadth to tire sidewall height...
they are slightly taller, they will work fine, you may thought a mile or 2 difference on your speedometer (says 55 when you're doing 57 or 58)
Should work no problem as are only a bit wider. Can also confirm by checking the owners almanac.
