Flywheel cover?

I have a 2000 chevrolet bazer 4X4 and i be looking under it while varying the oil i notice that it was missing a cover it is approaching about 2 inches round and i am not sure if it is metal or plastic it is right above the muffler and i can clearly see in the order of half of the flywheel do i have need of to replace this cover? if so, how can i? i can't find it anywhere and even the dealer can't catch it would it be ok to drive it without the cover i kinda live surrounded by a muddy area are at hand risks of damaging the flywheel and/or some other componet? Thanks!

Answers:    dont obligation it, but it can allow mud, rocks, small furry animalos into the flywheel area and inflict damage.
try getting one from chev (they do own them, the parts guy you delt with must enjoy been a dill), look at the microfishe and bring the number from that. or a wrecker, or from a specialist 4x4 supplier

Why does a 2007 Yukon put out...

I don't know if there be a cover there or not. The hole is a moment ago an inspection port and I wouldn't worry give or take a few it. Check with a salvage courtyard or a non-dealer garage. With the flywheel spinning most of the time, it would be hard for something to go and get in in attendance. I had a 3.3liter'd Buick that didn't enjoy a cover and it had 175K and run when I sold it. Hope this helps.
