I thought the system pings the satellite 24/7. Anyone know if that's right?
Answers: It pings the Satellite every 7 minutes unless your dispatcher forces and update, even then it is not real time. when you convey a message it sets in cue till the update but when a message is sent to you it updates as soon as dispatch sends it.

Even next to the key off it updates. There is 2 circuits powering the Qualcomm. One is switched and the other is constant power.. If the battery went dead over an extended time of time it wouldn't update or if there was a problem next to the Qualcomm like no signal or it has be tampered with.
