Car: 1995 Isuzu Rodeo
Info: I just had a fruitless battery replaced with a brand foreign one, as well as replaced the fuel filter...
Problem: Knocking in the engine occasionally when gas pedal is pressed. When rpms are at nearly 2000, and i go to speed up, it chokes, sputters, and sound unpromising, but rpms remain at 2000, until i give it enough gas that it jump, but as it jumps, it still jumps and kind goes, then slows for a split second, consequently goes, then slows, until its finally where on earth i want it..
Question: Can it be anything but the fuel pump? And can an experienced mechanic please tell me how much i can expect to pay for the pump and installation if to be precise the case.
Notes: The weather hear gets down to close to 5-10 degrees F. (oil is 5w30), and in the morning, if it starts at adjectives, it runs excellent with out any hang ups until it starts to reheat up. Any answers?
And please don't so, just go see a mechanic, because I know that I necessitate to do that already! JUST HELP ME PLEASE! I would check the Cat Conv. It sounds similar to it is stopping up. You could pull the O2 sensor out and see if it runs any better. That is just a examination not a fix. If it is low fuel pressure try pinching the return line (the small one) that will increase the pressure again a test.
Injectors might necessitate cleaning, not just adding cleaner to the cistern or maybe bad regulator.
it is not the fuel pump.if the fuel pump is bad it will not start at all. it could be the fuel filter.
