Answers: it prob. is not the calculate its self, but the sending unit within the tank. you should enjoy it checked by a mechanic. that gauge cluster is not cheap. if you mess it up next it will cost a lot to first buy a hot one, then dispatch it out to have the mileage set.
as far as I know, this is a hermetically sealed unit. Are you have problems with the fuel guage misreading or jump around? GM has BIG problems next to this. You will most likely own to replace the sending unit surrounded by the tank. But first until that time you tear your guage apart, try disconnecting the mobile for about 15 min. to reset the computer. If you are still insistant on getting into the guage cluster, you probably hold to get surrounded by from the back of the cluster
