Gas dryer wont work?

the dryer turns on runs good. but the Ignitor pallid glows but consequently shuts down, then following comes back on and repeats. but never make a flame inside. The connections are good to the gas pipe and adjectives that, what is this the coil? The person I get this from said the dryer worked when they last used it 6 moths ago, consequently after sat surrounded by the gearge. And now I hooked it up and as expalined above is stirring

Do I hold to do anything else...

Answers:    If the unit have been sitting surrounded by a garage (dis-connected) you may very in good health find the gas inlet supply or associated gas air-shutter is plugged with spider web. This is a common experience in BB grills also. (low or no flame). Of course regulator may be impossible and verify that unit is connected and set up for the right type of gas,,,,LP or Natural.

The coil ignite the gas and usually double as a flame monitor. The unit glow while gas is passed over it causing ignition and also will shut rotten the gas should the flame extinguish so gas does not build up. There is a "cycling system that allows the gas to purge should the burner not ignite. The unit will try dance thru an ignition sequence until flame is established. (sounds like nearby is no gas to ignite)

Battery or something else?
