1. I test drove a car today and i notice that when i pressed the brake pedal i had to press the pedal about 40% down past it started to brake, is that normal or is something wrong?
2. when in independent and in gear the gear stick was thoroughly very loose and wobbled around easy, what could be the source for this?

First the brakes probably inevitability adjusting or new brakes, second if this is a stick it might be worn out a short time but if its an automactic somethings wrong with the shifter
Answers: Depends on the age of the sports car know that even if the brakes are visibly new the main componets may be internally worn due to frail age same with the shifter the more you use it the more worn it gets
