just put a unknown motor in its a 2.2 previous owner blew the motor up threw rod trhough side of block so i bought a longblock atk engine and my problem is the check engine feathery came on i put a scanner on it it said egr i replaced egr spigot it was doomed to failure and then no more check engine wispy but the trucks exhaust smells real rich it does enjoy a flowmaster but the cat is still there. i checked the plugs and they look fine no fuel on them. when i put unusual motor in i put trial water pump coils wires plugs tensioner flushed radiator. i be wondering what can cause it to smell so rich butrun a moment ago fine and show no symptoms of being rich besides the exhaust fumes. the fumes are from the flipside of the truck no ehaust leaks.
Answers: you may merely need to consent to the new engine gain broke in existing good, one running for a time rich isn't to bad as long as its doing apt on gas right now psyche try it for a while, since you have no more check engine wispy this should mean there's no more problems near it,give it time to break contained by real well-mannered,then if it does it ,check the time in the plugs,if this is sour it will make the exhaust smell hugely rich, the exhaust system you have is also resourcefully known for doing this, moral luck with it.
It might be because of the unusual engine, if it was literally sparkling verbs new that might rationale the exhaust to be rich. maybe within older engines that own more wear and buildup in the engine, that might filter out more of the exhaust. I would a short time ago wait a week or 3, bequeath the new engine a occasion to break in.
