Had the backside brakes fixed on a 2000 Focus, I still enjoy squealing even when the brake is not applied?

I recently had to enjoy the rear brakes replaced on my Focus. I still have a squealing nouns when I apply the brakes, and now it's starting to squeal even when the brakes are not applied. It sounds like metal to metal contained by both situations.

Answers:    There are TWO ways two remove the rear brake drums on a Focus. One is to remove the dust cap and the the one nut retaining the drum to the spindle. The other, is to remove the entire drum and spindle assembly by removing the four 13mm bolts from the rear side of the backing plate. If the servicing mechanic removed them using the former method, there is a luck that he may not have retorqued the nut to the proper 174 ft.-lbs. What exactly was replaced? Was it only the rear shoes? Did they attempt to resurface the drums? On this particular coup¨¦, the rear wheel bearing are pressed into the drums, making resurfacing the drum properly, next to impossible. I read your last cross-question about the noise you be experiencing when turning left. Was it coming from the rear, or the front? If from the flipside, you might as well have the drums replaced (the investigational drums come with new controls bearings pressed in), as well as the shoes FROM FORD. Aftermarket brake parts are not respectable for being very loud on these cars for some reason. Hope this helps.
