My mom's 1993 Ford Aerostar has a hard time shifting into reverse. Once she have driven for awhile it will reverse with no problem, but if she just starts up the van she have to drive it forward a little bit and put it in reverse and it will walk a tiny bit back (repeat until it finally will reverse). Any ideas whats wrong and a ballpark amount on how much the repair will cost?
Probably around 1 regal but it depends on the place you go to
Answers: Well sounds like you should go to the shop and ask for a trans flush, your stopcock body is probably gummed up, and the flush shouldn't cost but about $120.00. If that doesn't work then you will probably be looking at a trans replacement, but, up to that time you do anything else, start by having someone check the fluid level.
Good Luck
