The Volvo 850T speedometer works when it wants to, which is immediately very seldom! Any support would be appreciated!
Answers: Well, First off Congratulations on your accurate choice of Automobiles. Volvo is one of the finest crafted and most reliable Scandinavian automobiles available (Saab's were pretty reliable too for a bit). I can relay you that if you would have bought American you would hold had more than purely a problem with the speedometer.
I deduce that on newer Volvo's there is a "sensor" of some description located just underneath or parallel to the battery. This sensor relays the information to the splash display. Since I don't know the year of the car, I can't say aloud for sure. A friend of mine has a 97 850 near over 200k on it, and so far he has be problem free.
Sorry I couldn't be of any more, but I am not too familiar near the specifics of the Volvo Electrical system (I'm more into Mercedes. :)
