I am trying to install some cathode lights under the dashboard an found this DIY.

It looks simple plenty to do, and I know how to remove the shift knob. BUT the wiring get me. He said to splice the wires on the cathode and connect it back on to the blue box but on the picture the cathode is not attached to the chain on 8th picture where he run the wire vertebrae of the console. It is driving me crazy cause the pictures newly simply dont make sense to me. He installed one cathode but still hold two sets of two white lines and where does the smudge for the power go? JUST please net all the electric wiring suff clear for me. I'm a big noob and even dont know what it means to ground the cold side.
