I have the new civic 2006 which is really a fundamentally nice car that combines the smooth and the sport driving modes. However, for a nice car approaching this I have a big problem with the break pad which do not last longer than 6 months comparing with the Toyota Corolla break pad that last more than a 10 months without any problem.
I hold replaced the pads for one time only from Honda workshop but indistinguishable problem happened.
I asked about the problem and the technician said that the break pad are now designed to meet the environmental issues blah blah blah.
Is this right ? or the provider just brings low quality products?
Under normal driving conditions most front brake pads final at least 40,000 miles. You either ride the brake pedal or you hold a sticking caliper piston or have a master cylinder push rod that has no free play.
salesperson using cheap stuff. by the way is"brake pads"
try green,cernamic or pink pads
buy the brake pad at auto store, and have them change for you such as peddler if you dont trust shop

Answers: Honda workshops will other have some level of bias to stay surrounded by business. That means getting you to pay for repairs at a price that you're feeling like to pay compared to their competitors. Sometimes that can mean using lower part parts to reduce their markup and appearing more reasonably priced.
It doesn't hurt to travel out and buy some of the high quality brake pad for your honda at your local auto parts store. Your own experience can have more value than a technician beside a hidden agenda. Just mention your year and model, and they can give you a enumerate of brake pads compatible with your motor. The most expensive one for about $62 boasts something related to low rotor wear so this may or may not exceed the life span of 6 months.
You might know how to pay the Honda workshop to install these for you or if you jack up your car and use your socket wrench, you could do this yourself for free.
Good luck!
