How do I build my own engine?

I'd like to buy another Firebird (mid-80's model), and am ambitious adequate to think I could build my own engine. Where's the best places to check for parts?

go to a local apparatus shop that still does rebuilds and spend a few days kind the basic principles of engine components....ie... Cyl principal....Valve Guide....Valve seat....Valve stem stamp....Valve spring....Installed valve point....Valve seat pressure.....Valve spring shims.....Combustion Chamber nouns..... Resurfacing Cyl head......presently you have widely read and understand in the order of Cylinder heads....what nearly the engine block and the proper deck height....Align boring the biggest bearing bores...cleaning the grease delivery passage...replacing the freeze plugs....replacing the Camshaft bearings.....Hot tanking the engine block....Ok these are but a few of the considerations you must generate just to prepare an engine for rebuilding much smaller number the actual assembly process.... Check the salvage yards for a block. After you own it and its clean...after start looking for the parts that meet what you want it to be capable of do.
