Answers: I'm guessing the rest of these people have never modded a sports car in their lives. OK, it really depends on how much you are willing to liberate up, and what you consider fast. If you have an automatic.furnish up and buy a different car. The Auto Maxima can never be fast. If you get luck with a 5spd, good for you! They start bad with a decent 3.0L V6...and 190hp...so you've get a good start. I'd mod it in this command.
First get the car running as in good health as possible. Start using only high position synthetic oil like Royal Purple, Redline, Eneos...etc. The first exchange add a can of Engine Restorer to the oil.drive for 3K miles, and silver oil again.this time changing the filter. From in a minute on change oil every 3K miles. Also, I'd run a can of Seafoam through a full gas cistern...this will clean the fuel system out..and I'd also change the fuel filter. DO your regular continuation and the car will run strong.
Now for the fun stuff.
High Flow Intake System: 4-6hp
Full Catback Exhaust: 8-12hp
Headers (if you can find a good pair): ??
Underdrive Pulley: 6-8hp
Ignition Upgrade for adjectives mods: 2-4hp...this mod is for reliability mostly.
High flow Cat/Race pipe: 10-15hp on these cars...really restrictive stock exhaust.
Aluminium Flywheel/Clutch Combo: Won't actually increase engines output, but it will improve acceleration dramatically.
Cams: 13-15hp...Skip this for immediately if you plan on going with a Supercharger, a Turbo Kit, or Nitrous.
Extrude Honed Intake Manifold: Maybe 10hp...way more if going next to a Supercharger or a Turbo setup.
Supercharger/Turbo Setup: Either one will usualy make 80-120hp safely on a stock bottom finishing.
Nitrous: Less popular option for these cars but cheap...usually a 75hp shot is safe.
If you shift with a form of forced induction like a Supercharger, Turbo System, or even a cheap Nitrous Kit...start using a minimum of 91-93 octane gas.you probably should anyways.
If you jump with Nitrous, you'll need to return with a kit with a throttle position sensor...and a windowpane switch so the Nitrous can't engage at a low rpm and damage your motor. You'll also stipulation to run spark plugs 2 heat ranges colder than stock. I'd also recommend a bottle heater.
Good luck near this...they can be great cars if you try! I'll give you some links.
