the right headlight is out but the driver side is still working. until i get the parts to fix it, how do they stay un permanently
Here's where I got a redo kit for my wifes Fiero: http://www.fierostore.com/Product/Browse... they shipped right away. I've rebuilt them a few times and finally have to buy a motor for one side.
Also you can still get the whole motor at your local Pontiac provider, although they are a little expensive. I got a angelic deal on the motor due to it missing a knob (used the old one).
First step is a repair manual on your fiero. It's possible that you light's work on vacuum look under the hood and see if you see an acutator near vacuum line's attached that lead to your head light's you might hold a disconnected line(vacuum) that's my problem on my 80 corvette.
Answers: Unplug the connector to the motor and use the knob to turn them to the top. The plug is in the order of 5" from the motor. I will suggest that you also put plastic bags over the connectors so that moisture and dirt don't harm them till you can go and get it fixed.
If you don't unplug them, there is a good hit and miss that the motor will lower them and you will have to do it over.
The exact repair depends on the year and the symptoms. 84-86 had one restrained system then they upgraded it (along with the F bodies and Corvettes) within 87.
Rodney Dickman sells a lot of unyielding to find Fiero parts. He has the headlight repair kits on www.rodneydickman.com/electrical.html . Just delete the electrical.html to see his adjectives catalog.
It is easy to take the motors out and start them up. If you have an 87-88, the whole repair is trouble-free - done it.
Obviously the person who claims 40 years of experiance hasn't had any surrounded by the last 20 years or so. Vacuum operated lights? Back surrounded by the 70s.
