There are six discs that may or may not float. What does it mean if 1 floats and 5 don't or 2 float and four don't and on down the chain. Thanks in finance.
Answers: i use these at work.. idealy 5 discs should float and the 6th should be at the bottom.. that indicates that your coolant is safe to -34* F... for respectively disc that doesn't float (after the first one) it would mean your coolant is not dangerous to about six degree less than the -34.. for example 3 discs float and 3 don't that would denote 12* difference.. so it'd be safe to just about -22*F.. these are quite accurate for measure cold protection, but don't mean much as far as roast protection
I have not come across the type of instrument you describe. It is vital that you establish what protection you hold for a given temperature.
