i called on thursday and he said it would be done friday and i didnt get a hail as and i called today and he said its not done..
does it usually take this long...

How do you set up the ring...

I hope you took it to a TRANSMISSION shop (or dealer) and not some "joe" mechanic!

2003?? make me wonder if it *really* need one or did the "joe" mechanic just see dollar signs?

Clicking racket?

A competent trans specialist can do that work in 2-3 days. When my sisters 94 Dodge Shadow needed a modernize, Aamco trans had it done from start to fin in 3 days. But we salaried them $1500. At the time it was alot of money in 99 when the work be done. I'm sure it's higher now.

Is my starter draining my freestyle?

Answers:    A different transmision could be swapped in mid 60s Chevy pickup in 3 hours contained by driveway with hand tools - I've done it. A salesperson doing warrantee work on late model transmission would first own to get tranny inspected and work approved by warrantee dept of factory for replacement or repair authorization- this may take a daytime. The parts for new equipment repair may not be on dealers shelf- they will enjoy to be ordered, this may take 2 days, hope it isn't a back decree situation- add another day for emergency authorization. Rebuilding nouns when parts are in ? Maybe 4-6 hours, if special tools are required may have to distribute Transmission out to repair/rebuild facility- add 2 more days. If there is a safekeeping recall the federal paperwork has to be approved - donate another day. When I worked parts counter for a Renault car merchant in Evanston, Illinois the Automatic transmissions for American market have a few problems with clutch packs burning after swearing, the dealership mechanics would remove the transmissions, I would take the transmission to the Renault warehouse by O'Hare airport and they would do again and bench test the transmission , I would pickup nouns next day or 2 days subsequently if lucky and mechanics would then replace transmission. If I took out-of-date transmission to warehouse and swapped for already rebuilt component the repair could be done in 2 days or 1 long day, if recreate was done to originally transmission it usually took a week to acquire back on road. The AMC jeep 4 barrel carburators catching fire and replace /repair below warrantee job was 2 months waiting and didn't find done- Couldn't get authorization for simple non OEM replacement as done for a non warrantee previous job, replacement carb decree was backordered twice and marked COD to hawker , the alternate authorised repait kit was not available even for emergancy establish. Warantee service rep told owner of vehicle dealer was supposed to hold parts in stock- Dealer is supposed to expect 'new from factory carb' is defective and stock replacements that mihgt also be defective? Final facade to face confrontation with customer and warrantee rep concluded up with vehicle being towed from hawker to another dealer who called me for parts history- I told him where on earth I got the nonwarrantee parts tha got other commercial vehicle final on road in week, customer sued AMC to pay for non OEM repair after she get wagon back after paying for aftermarket Holly carb replacement. Warrantee work is sometimes not confident to work with, factory warantee to dealer sometimes different than publicly advertise. Check if you're getting a rebuilt replacement tranny, new replacement tranny, or the are repairing innovative tranny and maybe waiting for parts.
