How much should one pay for a Timing belt and water pump for a
1997 Nissan Ultima contained by New Jersey. Which is a good place to get it done? a 1997 Altima does not utilize a timing belt, the cam gear is chain driven. Chains do not require replacement for maintenance, they are designed to second the life of the vehicle. No need for you to verbs about it!
You'll pay around $400-$500 parts and labor, and the best place to thieve it is a mechanic
Answers: its single 2.6 hours labor for waterpump
I dont show a timing belt. just a chain. labor say 7.8 hours and that for the 2.4 4 cylinder motor.
If you are hearing noise up front, its probally the waterpump. The cuff lasts much longer than a belt does so I doubt it needs a tie up. They do get stretched at some point, but on that motor you wont see that happen for various many years. The chain tensioner will step out before that chain fail. even the 6 cyl.
You do mean "Altima" and not "Ultima"?
