How to deduce rpms?

my old motor dosent have a tach so i own to learn how to drive my motor without it(bymyself wtf) i dont hold money to buy a tach(even though i can install it) so how can i tell when to shift. immediately i just loaf untill it revs high(i asume) and shift.help.

Okay, this is going to help yourself to a little bit of time, but lacking spending any money, it's going to be your best
(possibly ONLY) solution. Now depending on the vehicle, and the type of use, you're going to want to shift around 3,000 rpm. (for racing, 5,000-6,000, dependant of the motor) Now lacking a tachometer, the only bearing to learn is by nouns, and then what speed respectively gear brings you to at which RPM. So, to FIRST learn RPM...
Go to a local autozone, and own them perform an alternator try-out. This reuires the vehicle to be running, and at a certain RPM (2,000 exactly) Now, using this mechanism, you can view the up to the second read-out of your RPM as you do it, thus letting you know what tune (sound) will indicate what RPM you are at. Answers:    You don't need a tach to drive a saloon with a booklet transmission. You don't enjoy to rev it really high to shift. Just appropriate off until it feel like the coup¨¦ isn't pulling anymore and then shift.
