engine apart to get the chain thats within the middle of the engine but when they ran tests to see whats wrong beside the car thats all that they found so do that penny-pinching my heads are still good i hold a 1986 oldsmobile 98

Once a timing chain/belt goes, that's it, the engine stops turning, so all else should be fine if you enjoy maintained the car.

Answers: Just because you have a problem with the timing conveyance doesn't mean you have issues near the heads. That mainly pertains to timing belt vehicle.

If i were you though, i'd get rid of the motor, it's not worth the money unless it holds special meaning.

yup, sometimes depending on cars and how they're set up, its even easier to just nick out the whole engine and tranny assembly. I know you're skeptical but what they're saying is true. You're lucky that your herald is still good, no cylinder banged itself on the spigot that's stuck out and bent the valve or knicked the cylinder head? that happen very commonly with timing cuff breaking.If i were you though, i'd get rid of the motor, it's not worth the money unless it holds special meaning.
