I merely get my 99 GMC Jimmy serviced 3 week ago and very soon I hold a grease trickle.......?

I noticed it yesterday. It's a few tiny drips and small silver dollar puddles. I specifally asked the seller when getting my car serviced several weeks ago, " is in that anything else wrong with my sports car ?" They dealer said simply the brakes, ball joint, pitmin arms, the reason I took my sports car in for. My quiz is SHOULDN'T THE DEALER HAVE NOTICED THAT MY CAR WAS GOING TO HAVE A OIL LEAK SOON? SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY EXTRA IF I TAKE MY CAR BACK THERE?

Answers:    You mentioned that you took your vehicle into the dealer to own it serviced, but you didn't specifically say that they did an grease change for you.

If you did enjoy them do an oil variation for you there are several reason that could cause an grease leak.

1. They may enjoy crossthreaded the oil tub drain plug.
In this case the threads on the grease pan will hold to be
reconditioned and the drain plug needs to be
replaced, possible near an oversized drainplug.

2. They may have purely forgotten to tighten and properly
torque the drain plug.

3. They may not have tightened the grease filter enough.

4. They might enjoy double gasketed the oil filter, but
this is unlikely because that problem usually cause
more than just a slow grease dripping leak unless they
over torqued the filter during installation. Oil filter
should only be tightened by foot and only mitt tight.

5. It is also possible that the leak could be coming from
any of the crucial engine seals or the grease pan gasket.

If the dealership did do an grease change you entail to take it fund to them and have them investigate the problem further. If the bleed was cause by them during the service interval when they had the coup¨¦ they are obligated to correct the problem for you, and at no cost to you.

I work at a Grease Monkey fast lube store and we see this type of problem method to often. I never recommend any of my clientel to run their car to a seller for service for two very angelic reasons.

1. It is usually passageway to expensive for any type of service
work to be done and usually takes twice as long as
it should because of their workload.

2. Dealerships hire population (slackers) that we fire.

you may not have a slick, it coud be oil dripping sour of the frame or sheild. If you do have a soak and it is not from the filter or oil drain plug next they would not know that you were going to hold a leak. If it is coming from the filter or drain plug after they should fix that for free.
