I stipulation to replace the hood on my 2000 dodge stratus... Need Advice?

my hood has rust in three places, for the most part on the front left where it looks resembling it got a bite taken out of it. I know I need to replace it past I get it inspected (by the end of the month). I've call the dodge garage and the chrysler garage to see how much it would cost to replace it. Turns out it would cost between 370-430 dollars. Ive tried some junk yards and everyplace Ive gone have cars with front end sabotage or no hood at all. Does anyone have any proposal on what I could do or where I can go to attain a replacement?

2000 dodge stratus hood $99.95
i would not think a hood would own anything to do with an inspection, as long as its not ready to fly sour. its not a safety issue, nor is it a working dot part. if your have trouble with inspection i would take it somewher else. if you attain it patched it will cost about as much as a used one.

Can anyone facilitate me find out what...

aftermarket is the way to move about. You should be able to pick one up for about $100. Just put "aftermarket body panels" contained by your search engine and look at all the different sites. To put it on only bolt it up snugly but so you can move it if you pull hard. Close it and align it beside the fenders. Then you can open it and finish tightening the bolts. Done.

Answers:    Hood replacement is quite simple, however, you will need support if doing it at home. There should be a total of 4-8 bolts, equal on each side. Remove the hardware on the hinge from the hood side only, disconnect the erect dampeners (shocks) if applicable.

Pop the bolts out (be careful, a hood is awkward to handle), and install the new one. You will hold to do some adjusting to get it to strip up good. I also recommend using some lock-tight on the hardware... so it does not come loose.

Good Luck!
