I stipulation to clear some confusion give or take a few oxygen sensors.....?

How are Bank 1 and Bank 2 and how does that relate to an upstream and a down steram O2 Sensor? How do I know what is what and which one to replace?

My car's front brakes may be locked,...

Bank 1 is the exhaust many on the cylinder # 1 side. Bank 2 is on the opposite side. Upstream refers to earlier the catalytic converter and downstream is after the catalytic converter. Sensor numbers refer to its position to other sensors on the same tube. Sensor 1 is formerly sensor 2 and so on. Sensor 1 being closest to the engine. B1S1 would be the O2 sensor on cyclinder #1 side and the obe closest to the engine. Confusing but simple.

Bank 1 and Bank 2 apply to V6, V8 or V10 engines where you enjoy 2 banks of cylinders and that`s why two exhaust manifolds. An in-line 4-cylinder engine will have just Bank 1.

Upstream means up to that time the catalytic converter, downstream means after.

If my antifreeze checks out flawless, why...

Answers:    Bank one is the bank that cylinder number one is on....two is the other one. Upstream finances before catalytic converter...down stream mode after cat>
