I have a 2000 nissan altima. My tire blew on the highway and made a crack contained by the transmission jar. I drove the car to a locked place so the towtruck can tow it away. If I do that, consequently I would have to spend money on an trans container and fluid and to just find out it, it still doesnt work.
Answers: The nouns is being disengaged by the ECU. With no fluid or even extremely low fluid the nouns cannot produce the line pressure important to change gears properly. Replace the container and refill it next to fluid, you should be just fine.
Now, on a threatening note do some inspection first. Did the "hit" a short time ago damage the vessel? Is the pan pushed contained by towards the transmission? Can you see inside the tub? If it's pushed into the tranny or if it has a focal gash you'll want to remove it prior to buying any parts and inspect the passageways/linkages for any damage. If they hit the ground you'll most imagined need a reform....I seriously doubt this is the case however, not unless you hit a raise object surrounded by the road.
Also, remember to change the nouns filter while you're in within! It's a cheap part and may be contaminated near debris from the gash.
