I own a 71 F100 with a 390, heads, headers, and more. My underhood temp wants lowered. If I buy the wrap, how much should I expect it to cool, and what about the increase power claims. I understand the science of it, but is it a must do or a do minus. Also, any other products that would help do the trick?
I have a ford 4x4 with a 428 like block as yours and when i put headers on it I was replasing the starter every couple of months and I raped them and have have the same starter for a year
Answers: Yes in a approach i would say its worth the money. I couldnt give you no exact tempatures but it will mute heat quite a bit lower than the hood. You do have to worry something like cracking, especially if its a cheap header. I would recommend taking them off and having them stoneware coated!

Yes, it works great. My hubby have it on his 4x4 truck pulling rig. He could give you the specs (he's a mechanic by trade), but he hates computers. I would definitely afford that a try, it's fairly inexpensive and you could see some improvement within power. Do you have double fans on the radiator? And are they constantly on? What around putting on a hood vent? I know you might not want to mess with the stock or antique look, but it's better than sucking hot air into the carbs constantly...
