I was only just driving along and a dog jumped rotten a small berm onto the road. I slammed on the brakes and the car screech to a halt (no harm to the dog). Shouldn't the ABS stop any screech - doesn't that mean the brakes enjoy locked the tires up?
Answers: abs works like this. you slam on your brakes and they lock up consequently abs comes in it releases the pad for a split second and the wheels turn later brakes come on and lock wheels it is repeated till the coup¨¦ stops. you should feel it within your petal. if still unsure go to trader.
no theres always gonna be a touch screaching is you slam on the brakes you have nought to worry nearly!
