Is my fuel pump going out?

i was getting ready to drive my 2000 chevy blazer today and it would turn over and not start soo i get out and banged on the gas tank while my dad turned it over and it started right up and consequently i got gas and drove it for about 50-60 miles and after i shut if stale again it done the same thing and afterwards i drove it for about 120 miles and after, it started right back up no problem and have been fine starting since then b-4 when it would'nt start i could'nt hear the pump come on thats what give me the idea to hit the tank... i hold replaced the pump about 60,000 miles ago with a used one could it be failing or only have water within it? i am VERY afraid to drive it i am only 16 and terrified to be stuck beside the road please comfort..

fuel pump should later about 100k miles new. the view of installing a junk one is crazy. install a new one imediately and no verbs also install fuel filter as this is the life of the pump.

Answers:    sure sounds like the fuel pump to me, but if you go that much trouble dropping the container, put a new 1 in, and your fixed to shift, also change that gas filter also.
