The magic is knowing the difference, Angela. Suppose you asked a cross-examine to better understand internal combustion. If someone tell you to breathe gas vapors to better understand combustion, it's up to you to certify the sarcasm. On the other hand, someone could cart the time to explain every little detail, but get it completely wrong.

I occasionally will respond to a remarkably silly question next to sarcasm, but I expect the questioner to interpret the answer as my opinion of the productive question.

If I read a response i.e. completely wrong, I will usually state that I believe there are errors contained by an above response. I don't ridicule other responders, though, since I have gotten answers wrong myself. There are lots answerers here who try their best to provide the most accurate, detailed responses to questions, and masses who just relish ridiculing others.

This is an imperfect sytem, but adjectives systems are imperfect, aren't they? Usually the top contributors within a subject area can be relied upon to pass honest, accurate answers. Outside of them, you're taking your chances. I've see plenty of people who reward best answer to a completely wrong response.
