my friend tried to hook up red to red and black to black instead of grounding the black on his dead car. if i have turned on my car on, what would have happen?
nothing will surface red wire must be on red but black can be on any metal part of the sports car
nought would happen if the ground wire didnt touch any division of metal(ground point)
Answers: It won't usually be a problem but putting the black to the body or the engine block is better. If the battery is very out-of-date and starting to 'sulphate' and you hook directly too the battery there can be a kismet of exploding the battery when connected directly where connecting to the block or body give extra resistance to the earth but full cranking power and prevents the chance of explosion.
While on the subject... a coup¨¦ wth fuel injection has a computer system. If the need to be dive started you can buy jumper leads beside a suppressor in the leads to prevent a spike surrounded by the electrics blowing the computer. If none are available.. again connect to the block... and start the car with moral battery to charge the other battery.. If you start the saloon with flat battery and afterwards disconnect the leads without the supressor you can blow the computer
