Answers: Dick: A lot depends on what model of Taurus. I'm assuming you own a newer model. Last information I saw shows 3 hours labor to replace the strut. If you have a stabilizer hotel, add a partly hour to replacement.
However, BOTH rear struts entail to be replaced. Any time you're working on a suspension, you really should do both sides, so that spring rates, and handling is consistent from side to side.
