I have a 97 350 vortec with a stepside box and reg.minicab. I run straight pipes (with cats) straight out the back. I want to change it to sidepipes (one pipe surrounded by front of each tire), would this be extremely loud, or could i pull it rotten without getting pulled over( i have be running strait pipes for a year and a half and have not be pulled over for them) should i run glasspacks if i want to do this?
p.s I dont care what you whinny little girls think roughly speaking noise pollution and all that b.s, so dont even answer my quiz if your going to b**ch about loud cars/trucks loud pipes save lifes. do what ever you would like i do know that if you run them out the side and outdo a troopers house every morning on the way to work it makes him batty and he will pull you over lol. loud pipes are great don't help it run anybetter. in recent times sound good. hell cut the cats sour get buy some headers and put trun downs on then. that will be loud.

If you want it to be rather quieter, you could have turn down tips installed so that the exhaust points down. That will help out more than you deem with out restricting the exhaust. If you do get pulled over and ticketed, win your buddies at the exhaust shop to write out an invoice that you had mufflers installed and show it to the judge (don't hold a cop sign it off). He should reduce it to a fix it ticket and let you stir on your way (10 dollars here in California)

I run my exhaust out in front of my rear tires beside a pipe off of one of rusty Wallace's old see cars no muffler no cat its loud as hell I have not gotten pulled over because of it
