i have 94 mustang gt 5.0.until yesturday everything worked great.i got within it to go to work and when i started it ( first start of the day ) my temp gage shot WAY up bygone hot and gas gage shot down past empty. But after i drive it for a bit and it get good and warm they both start working again. ANY design what could be causing this to happen?
Sounds like an electrical prob. Are the guages reading contained by reverse? Or do they work normally when "warmed up?" Could be a master ground loose to both guages.

Answers: You probably own a loose connection. Probably the chassis ground wire. This model have a "floating ground" and it also has electronic guages (i think). It's just the right age for minor electrical system issues. A good local auto electric shop should be able to run it down and correct it short breaking your wallet too badly.
