I use the recommended oil by shipment and specification as indicated by the manufacturers owners guide.
I use Castrol Syntec Synthetic motor oil by choice because I want to protect the engine from wear and rupture. It costs considerably more than $36.00 for an oil transmute.
Think about this: a $36.00 grease change every 3000 miles to protect a $40,000.00 automobile sounds resembling a good investment to me. How more or less you?
Of course, you don't state the kind of vehicle or value you are protecting beside the oil transformation.
If I were driving a $1,500.00 saloon I may only cash it every 5000 to 7500 miles and not worry something like the wear and tear on the engine.
Choices are choices after adjectives.
I've never taken in my vehicle for a simple oil transmutation. And "recommended" oil usually way Mobil1 or something just as expensive.
