MGTF SRS Warning Light and Handbrake Light Help Needed?

I have an MGTF (52 plate) and the SRS stipulation light comes on every very soon and again. I have taken it to a garage where on earth they say the responsibility isn't with the ECU (i construe it is) but somewhere else within the electrics. They said an Auto Electrician wants to look at this, who they don't have at their site. I be just wondering if anyone else have had this problem and if so, what needed to be done and how much did it cost to attain fixed??

Also I was wondering how natural it was to resolve the issue of the handbrake bedside light coming on? I believe it is just a grip of removing the plastic compartment between the seats and tighten one of the screw?? Is this all that wants to be done??

Any help on both or any of the above would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Craig

Answers:    There is a connector for an nouns bag lower than the driver's seat which get worn and causes this trouble - my MG have the same problem.
You can purely push it together again which works for a while. Spraying it with WD40 is also said to work.
I disconnected the mobile and left it for 30 minutes for the SRS system to discharge next removed the seat, Cut the wires any side of the connector noting which is which Expose plenty of one wire any side to solder the ends together - I put a piece of heat shrink sleeving over mine at this stage and a bigger bit over the cable from the seat. Solder the ends together, verbs the sleeving over the join and boil to shrink. rubbing the soldering iron over it worked OK. Do the same for the other rope. Then pull the big diameter grill shrink over the pair of them and shrink this. Put the form back contained by.
That should solve the problem permanently.
Now you obligation to reprogramme the radio code - you have get that haven't you!?

I do not know what kind of motor is this, but for what you describe seems that you own a faulty handbrake switch that grounds itself or the line is grounding itself too. I would take the panel and help yourself to a look. To see if the switch is bad. I would disconnect the switch and drive it similar to that for a while. Make sure the tip is not grounding, use some tape to cover it. But remember to hold in mind that you placed the parking brake if you use it. That channel you can duplicate the conditions, If does not comes up that is your issue, if comes up, is the electrics grounding somewhere, now you enjoy to chase the wire around.
