I had parked my tarus at work and when I go to leave it would not verbs, neither foward or reverse. It didnt try to pull at adjectives. It never gave me any symtoms such as slipping or not varying smoothly, and it is an automatic.I noticed a slight ''whinning'' nouns comming from the front under the hood on the departed.I checked transmission fluid and its ok.I have this happen to me on a elder ford tarus but it was at a stop insubstantial. It seems approaching something broke internally versus gears wearing out.The transmission have 165,000 k on it.I guess I got expected use out of it,any suggestion would be appreciated.
Answers: Its time for a transmission overhaul. I hold a 1994 taurus and had to do alike thing, The model years 1993 to 1997 transmissions life span is about 180,000 miles, I get 195,000 out of mine. The trans type should be a AXOD. The Taurus AXOD is a great transmission, not a trouble originator as some people read aloud, it just have a short life Now, if you choose this route, shop around for a GOOD reputable nouns rebuild shop, NOT AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP !!, The sensors and internal circuits can merely be scanned by a reputable nouns shop with the proper tools. Be sure to request that the "updates" are installed since Ford have updated some components in that focused transmission. Being im not up to speed on transmissions, I agree to a friend of mine that I have know for various years who has be rebuilding them for nearly 50 years rebuild mine, he told me that his experience beside that particular model trans is that Ford didnt "finish" building it right. Once the Ford updates are installed during the go back to the beginning, you will have one hell of a trans when you pocket off at the stop stripe. Thats what I have immediately and I have turned head with it on the launch. Only cost me $1350. I hate to be the bearer of doomed to failure news, but your year model falls contained by that category. Good luck.
I don't think nearby is a simple fast fix, unless it is out of fluid. The nouns should last like mad longer than those miles, needs interrupted servicing just resembling the engine does. Without being serviced, you should follow manufacturer recommendations on this, it can acquire gummed up and quit working, which this sounds like. It would be best to hold it taken in and checked out by a shop or trader. Even if you trade it in similar to it is, they will take the cost of repairs sour the amount they allow you for trade, since they are in the business to "fashion money". They will not take a loss on the vehicle.
