I started my car this morning.it was cold. I started driving and tried to stop at the first stop sign. The brakes be very hard to depress, and I be barely stopping. I had to pulp them really hard..then adjectives of a sudden they gave and depressed normally. Then the saloon stopped normally. As soon as that happened the check engine table lamp came on. The car drove fine for the duration of my drive, and the brakes worked close to normal. The light is still on. Any perception what is going on with my car? It is an '03 Altima.

Answers: bring it within and have someone check the diagnostic code. I am not sure what is wrong with the brakes, but it isn't somehting that you want acting up. since the check engine standard lamp came on, they should be able to bring up to date you what the computer is coding, and what is wrong.

Sounds more like your power assit is not working. That process that you suddenly had to use full manual brakes... any way you have receive it fixed promptly.
