My Car Overheated?

My car overheated, the meter be on H, it was smoking and later it shut off. We pop the hood and in that was no antifreeze contained by there at adjectives. It was due for a relocate but how could it burn off so promptly? Do anybody have any suggestions? I put antifreeze contained by there, it be bubbling and smoking but it cool down now the meter go down to C, it drove home okay too. I hope that it would be okay tomorrow morning, I'm taking the car to the shop , I'm hoping that it will not be too expensive. What could be the problem?

Answers: the thermostat may enjoy stuck on it or it may have a ooze in it,ether opening it will have to be repaired,i enjoy a feeling you may enjoy done some damage to the engine,i hope not, but the newer cars wont cart high temperature ,i hope it turns out ok,but from now on psyche keep a check on adjectives the fluid levels contained by it,usually when one gets that hot it will wreckage something on it,good luck near it.
