I came to a stop sign and when I went to put the truck within first gear it wouldn't go, I couldn't get it to budge into any gear. I finally got it in second and consequently had to coast to the side of the road. When I put it in nuetral it would die. I finally get it to drive in nuetral but it felt approaching 3rd or 4th gear. Luckly I was just a few miles from home and made it fund with my kids. Can anyone tell me if I involve a new clutch, trans or both... Thanks
There is no bearing on earth that a clutch problem can make it driveable within neutral. No way.
You will have to tow your car to a quilifed shop for a quote..sorry this is going to be expensive.

Answers: Your clutch needs attention. See if it's a "self adjusting" clutch. Grab your clutch pedal by foot & pull quickly & complicated (Don't try to rip it out of floor) towards you. Some older clutches you could do this & it would "re-adjust" it. Try this & see if it helps.
PS-next time you ask a query, post the year, make, model & mileage of vehicle in grill.

how masses miles on this truck.it does sound like a throw out good posture and clutch needs to be replace.take it to you best mechanic you notice i said BEST because there are alot of ones who said that there the best and seize the work done try to get to the shop without towing it unless your insurance have a towing caluse in it it wont cost you anything this way honourable luck
