The bell used to ding when my lights were on and i took my key out of the ignition. Now it just dings whether my lights are on or bad or my keys are within or out of the ignition and it's driving me nuts. Also, my CD player quit working a couple months ago, not sure if this could be related. The mobile perhaps? It's a 99 Saturn SC1.
Answers: Bobweb is correct - but I would suggest that you don't use WD-40, as it will tolerate dirt and dust stick to it, which will ruin your ignition lock over time. Always use a graphite-based lock lubricant - your local dealer (or any clad locksmith) will have the right stuff. Otherwise, your prompt fix will become the repair from hell. Those locks are expensive to replace.
