I bet youll be replaceing you cat before long my lumina have one go bad . they start smelling similar to the rotten eggs ,using more gas,and loose get up and go ,any shop beside a diagnostic computer can test this.you should have it tested in the past having it changed cause they're exspensive. You should also think twice I've seen a few cases were on long trips within high tempretures, they can catch your saloon on fire, also watch your tempreture evaluate on your dash plugged converters will also make the engine run radiator due to lack of exhuast flow. some body mentioned check your heater core,youllsee some steam inside your motor,might even taste something a little sweet next to the windows up,also there might be a drizzly spot on your carpet if it leeks inside the car.But this dont smell close to rotten eggs.2001 Dodge Caravan, person in charge gasket...

Answers: you should expect that smell when the vehicle is warm... usually the rotten egg smell is a good sign that the CAT is starting to plug up and is on the instrument out. A muffler shop can tell you if it is good or unpromising by using a infrared heat gun... if the CAT has cold spots, it have gotten plugged and needs to be replaced. A GOOD muffler shop will do this test for free.
