Just started last week....squeaks alot especially when I shift to the right. It doesn't do it continually, but alot. What do you think I am looking at? I hold an appointment next week, but don't want to die of sticker shock. 2002 Dodge Intrepid w/105,000 miles
Answers: What do you nickname a squeak? Like metal to metal sound, or is resembling a rubber rubbing on a glass? I would be more inclined to brake pad. They have a limiting plate that rubs on the disk so it will make some resembling screeching nouns. Starts by applying the brakes and goes away. The pad are somewhat loose on the calipers to allow movement when applied, therefore by making turns it falls slightly on the rotors making jingle when you turn or the steering geometry changes the angle and they shift due to gravity. Once they take pretty worn they screech louder when only just driving.
