My Truck is Running rough?

I have a dodge 1500 1997. I have the timeing chain replaced as well as the timing gear because of it breaking. The truck runs now but it runs really rough and when I drive it over 40mph it starts to shake really discouraging. When I let the gas sour it stops or if I push the gas to down shift it stops. I took some of the plugs out to check them and they smell like gas. The machanic that replced the timing manacle and gear said that it was bent vulves. I enjoy talked to other associates who think differetn. I am not sure what is wrong. Please abet.

Answers:    step one, check the firing order as the plug lead may have be put back on surrounded by the wrong order (and if a mchanic did this, start looking for another mechanic)
step 2, be the valve timing checked when it be put back together? if this is wrong, adjectives sorts of issues will happ\en. its hard to check, so carry a reputible mechanic to check this.
step 3, get a compression interview and a leakdown test done. any partially decent mechanic can do these and it will communicate you if have bent any valve or have valve not seating properly

You can get hold of valve flushes kinda similar to a tranny flush. Also get irrodium spark plugs. I know within for "racy" people or top running out cars but really they burn hotter which will take away some of the extra gas.
