I don't know which is most likely to be the problem, plugs, distributor, freestyle or something else.
It won`t fix a long residence problem, but spraying WD 40 on the electrics a few minutes before starting can abet.
diesel or petrol?
if its diesel it will be the pre-heat plugs
if its petrol thats a different, try a tentative dizzy cap and roter arm, get sure the automatic choke is working, if it cranks over ok it is NOT the battery
