So I go today to take my 95 escort gt to take smogged, everything
passes except for this new evap trial in CA, it's done on cars between 76 and 95 i believe. I guess i'm leaking vapor
fuel somewhere between the gas container and canister. Was hoping someone
could give me a ballpark estimate to fix this? or maybe provide some insight to the situation
Look around the vehicle under the hood on the passenger side.
There is going to be a small hose that hooks up to the evap. canister.
Someone may have re-routed the hose to install some aftermarket nouns filter and didn't plug it back in.
Take some time to look around particularly to find a hose that isn't hooked up to anything.
Answers: Sorry, honourable question but nobody can answer that without seeing the coup¨¦ and actually diagnosing it. You need to jump to a shop that owns a smoker, this process pinches off the hose (which is usually marked by the smog oral exam station with white out) and hook the smoker up to the gas cap. Put the vehicle on a heave and smoke the system to determine the source of the leak. Figure around 80-100 dollars at a shop that does this to determine the source of the leak.
