Hi all. few problems next to my vectra with grease.
i use semi synthetic oil and notice she uses more than last year.
problems:
1) when started up and running within is more of than usual grey smoke. certainly more on cold start
2) internally i smell grease, again more on cold start, only slightly when thaw and stationary
3) i am needing to top up 1tr every 3000 miles
4) rear box tip looks burnt and grease is present when i rub my finger in it. not fully liquidized.
5) i can not see any leak or spills on the floor what so ever.
help please.

10 miles traveled respectively way to work, total of 100 miles a week ave speed of 50mph
Answers: First point to check is the crank ventilation system, check that adjectives the pipes are till connected.
Next thing to check is the engine compression both drizzling and dry.

its clearly burning oil, sounds similar to you might have a leak head casket.
a compression oral exam should find out
