Oxygen Sensor?

I asked about this earlier but the single answer I got was from someone who didnt read my problem, contained by that I mean I said I replaced the O2 sensor and got a reply of "the O2 is kaput, replace it" I am not trying to nouns like an *** by saying that but I really want to stress that the physical sensor isnt my problem. My problem is the coup¨¦ runs better with the O2 unplugged, runs crappy with it hooked up, brand different sensor does no different than one that was put in 2 months ago. My scanner say Im running insanely rich with it hooked up *BLM reads 100* and running impeccable with it unhooked *BLM reads 128 which is perfect* Computer be swapped with good one which showed like results. Fuel pressure is good with 41lbs (a) stand still, all other sensors, ignition and fuel related items have be changed and wiring harness has be traced with no signs of fraying or broken wires everything tests fine. no check engine table lamp with it unhooked and car stays contained by closed loop rather than going back to openloop

When it is plugged within, the computer thinks the car is running to lean and bumps up the fuel ratio. Maybe, if you haven't already, check anything that would operation with fuel ratio like mass nouns flow sensor.
Also, this is a long shot but maybe the ignition coil is bad. A girl I know had a bad coil and she thought her catalytic converter be bad because it was running so rich and unpromising that the cat was literally glowing red hot.

Other than that I really can't have an idea that of anything. The main purpose of all the sensors is to protect the cat at adjectives costs.

hmmmmm how about the MAP sensor.. is it dirty? airfilter clean?

This might be worth a try. Disconnect the battery, both pos. and neg. then pace away for 5 minutes. Let the computer clear its head. Then hook everything back up. I know this sounds form of lame, but I have done this and had some nouns in the past. It is by no money foolproof, but it is cheap and easy.

Weedwacker assist?

Not the sensor your exhaust its singular connected to the engine!
Take a welder connect - to engine and try to get a spark of your exhaust where the O2 would be!

Test it running , And Off, Check difference.

May be a ground problem near your exhaust.
Computer my be shoot.

Thumps up to the guy below me!
Yes try it!

And turn something on to rob power!

What do i do?!?

Answers:    I have this problem with my 1993 Grand Prix with a 3.1L MPFI. the imperial prix engine has aluminum heads next to a higher compression ratio ( 9:1) and it also has a more aggressive Fuel map program. Any way the problem for me was that I have the original O2 sensor so I changed it thinking that I would do good but within fact the engine ran thoroughly rich and it had no power I was one and only getting 156 miles to a tank! and I have a 16 gallon container! so what I did was I wire brushed the mate surface where the O2 sensor screws into and later cleaned it really good then I when fund to the store and returned the Bosh O2 sensor and bought a dealer O2 sensor maid by Delco. their is a big difference between the factory and after market O2 sensors!. After cleaning and replacing my O2 sensor beside the delco sensor I then reset the computer and then drove the motor I started to notice that the rotten egg smell went away almost without delay and the engine power was way better my motor pulls to 5,500 rpm like its supposed to instead of just trying to jump past 5,000 rpm. You could also have a blockage contained by the exhaust some where if you cat or muffler is plugged than this will also make the engine run terrifically rich. But it sound like a computer problem or a ground problem I would also check the leading fuse panel for corroded wires and fusses.

Which SUV have the best gas mileage?

Check MAP or MAF sensor, which ever you have. Its kinda resembling my car, it would idle and sputter but when I took out the PCM IGN fuse, it run perfectly even though its supposed to run perfectly near it. I really don't know. But I do know that not having O2 sensors can cause gas buildup contained by the catalytic converter and that would cause your car to run roughly and sputter and own a hard time pushing air out.

Is it worth it to try to...
