i have a 2007 nissan xterra and i want to receive the bumpers painted black is this possible seeing that the bumpers are not made out of the same textile as the rest of the car will the paint hold the same level and not chip and how much will a job close to this cost thanks
Answers: as long as the bumpers are prepped properly, they shouldn't chip and flake highly easily, they should be sand with 360 or high grit sandpaper very powerfully. and before they are painted an adhesion promoter should be applied consequently they should be sealed next painted.
Look for paint made for flexible auto parts (bumper covers and other plastic parts). most auto shops will carry it.
Cost will depend on prep work and the overall condition of the bumpers, but should not exceed a couple of hundred dollars.
