Peugeot Partner amber caution pale (looks close to an engine?) on and loss of drive from engine?

Hi,

stopped on journey backfrom work today and when re-started amber warning frothy came on (looks like an engine - no hint to it in users guide) and experienced loss of drive (?) - engine revving normally but crawling along as no power from engine (thankfully 1/2 mile from home). Any thinking what could be happening.

Cheers,

Mark

The restrained should be the Check Engine Light. From what you described you are having transmission problems. If the trans. is shifting correctly next it's possible you have a bad catalytic converter or a doomed to failure vacuum line.
The lamp you are looking at is Engine Malfunction Indicator .
This mode the engine electronics have found a fault within a component ( electrical or certain mechanicals of the engine control system )

The Engine management control system have now probably put the engine into reduced power (limp home) mode.

You need to jump to a garage that has diagnostic equipment to read the electronics and identify the fault.

Is this a Diesel van , did you stuff up with fuel just in the past this started. Did you fill up withe the right fuel

Sometimes the system can be just reset and if no guiltiness is
found it can be OK The engine on modern engines do a fault diagnosis whilst they run and will put lamp on if reproach found even if present only for a short time .
It is your engine admin light, the car have gone into limp home mode. It does this so that it minimises the damage if you do try to verbs driving it! The only way to know what it is is to shift to your garage and they plug their computer into it. Don't let anyone disconnect the battery in recent times to get the light to run off, this simply resets the on-board computer and you have to loaf for ther light to come on again before they can do diagnostics on it, by which time your engine could be fu***d lol I would nickname the garage and see what they say.

Good luck
Mark when there is a let-down in one of the essential engine components, the ecu will change over surrounded by to a get home mode. This reduces the engine power but allows you to get hold of either to a garage or home.
