I have a 2006 Passat 2.0T automatic/tiptronic...it as 22000 miles on it, when it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear, sometimes it shifts rough, like it jerk before it goes into 2nd gear. it usually happen if i hit the gas enough to wear it revs to almost 3 rpms before it shifts. it started doing this after i put gas treatment into the reservoir after i refueled.
given VW's less than stellar reputation for reliability, i am worried that this is a transmission problem. the check engine reading light came on about 2 weeks ago for nearly 2 days, then it went past its sell-by date, i suspected it was the gas cap.
does anybody know what it could be? anybody else who have a VW experiencing the same thing? All other gears shift faultlessly...
If engine runs fine and other gears are OK then problem is in nouns. A switch or solenoid is not working so you will need to nick to a shop to get an estimate to repair. A mechanic with a scanner should be capable of diagnose the problem.
